VIDEO | Loneliness and the Social Networks

What is the connection between Social Networks and Loneliness or Being Lonely?

Quoting the words of Sherry Turkle from her TED talk – Connected, But Alone.

Also Based on Dr. Yair Amichai-Hamburgers hebrew article -The Invention of Loneliness.

Script, Design & Animation: Shimi Cohen

Final Project at Shenkar College of Engineering and Design.

The internet has confused the mass majority of people with its sudden shift from LOCAL to GLOBAL. We very suddenly went from having perhaps 7 close “REAL” friends, and now we have perhaps 2,000+ “friends” on Facebook.

This global phenomenon has created an “illusion” of being “connected”. Sure, we are “connected digitally” however few online connections are truly connected “emotionally”.

Personally, I promote and market most of my products and services to my LOCAL (Minneapolis, MN) area. I also promote and market the geographic areas that I am personally attracted to. (Mine are Tulum, Mexico, Bali, and Costa Rica)

This being said, if you are interested in these geographic areas, LET’s CONNECT!
